While she may not actually be a women, try telling her that without being eaten. The brainchild of John Waters is this transvestite character known for being the filthiest women alive. I was originally introduced to Divine by my roommate in college (first try). He raved about "Pink Flamingo" most of the semester and then he actually found it at a local rental place. Needless to say, coming from small town America, this movie changed my life. I had never seen such a glorified plundering of everything holly. I'm talking egg ladie living in a baby crib, choreographed butt hole whistling, eating police officers, jerk-off turkey baster rape, and even a guy that ties meat to his dick and steals ladies purses.
Recently, I have come across both "Female Trouble"(1974) and "Lust in the Dust"(1985). I have to say, "Pink Flamingo" (1972) will probably always be my favorite, but if your a fan of Divine you will like almost anything she makes. I feel silly, being a self proclaimed critic and never seeing her most popular movie "Hairspray" but I personally am not a musical fan and wouldn't be able to take it. By DC
Although I recently stated that I thought Critters was a superior creature feature to Gremlins, Phoebe Cates made Gremlins worth watching. While Gremlins was one of her biggest roles, it was her appearance in Fast Times at Ridgemont High that guys of all ages waking up from wet dreams. You may remember her from various other roles, from Drop Dead Fred to Bright Lights Big City. But I gotta say, if you want Phoebe at her very cutest, Shag is the movie you want to watch. Shag takes place in the late 50's to early 60's when ladies still had some innocents. 4 girlfriends take off on spring break to Myrtel Beach that is what you always hoped your trip had been like. There is love, laughs, vulnerability, and a little whoring around. For a guy that normally likes stupid horror movies, this is a beautiful tale that will make you fall in love with Phoebe Cates if you weren't already. By DC
From her role in Misery to her part in Fried Green Tomatoes, Kathy Bates has always been a stand out character. Her ability to be a sweet little housewife, a husband tackling Momma, and then transform into a ruthless torturing lunatic truly shows her range.
While Grace only had a limited number of roles, she certainly helped define the movies she was in with a look that in a lot of ways, was a piece of art. Born in Jamaica, Grace began as a singer/song writer, but her beauty would inevitably push her towards modeling and acting as well. See her in Conan the Destroyer, the James Bond movie A View to Kill, or you can see her in her lead role as a prostitute vampire in the movie Vamp. Regardless of where you see her, her raw sexuality will have you looking at nothing else.
